As a recipient of B.A. degrees from both the College of Communications and the College of Liberal Arts, my studies at Penn State involved much analysis of concepts learned in the classroom. The Growing Role of Social Media in Tourism Marketing: The topic for this paper was self-chosen and written in partial fulfillment of Penn State's Client Agency Relations (COMM 427) course. The paper discusses destination marketing organizations' ever-increasing use of social media outlets as marketing tools, using case studies to illustrate recent trends and successes.

Analysis of Facebook Use through the Lens of Susan Fiske's Social Motives Theory: This paper was written in partial fulfillment of Penn State's Self and Social Judgement (PSYCH 421) course. The paper offers an analysis of Susan Fiske's social motives theory as it relates to the Facebook activity of young adults.

Michael Moore and His Fictitious Non-fiction: The topic for this paper was self-chosen and written in partial fulfillment of Penn State's Documentary in Film (COMM 454) course. The paper casts a critical eye on the disparity between Michael Moore's crusade for non-fiction in "fictitious times" and his admittedly inaccurate portrayal of events in his documentaries.
